I remember the summer going between 6th and 7th grade, one day my dad took my sister and I on a long bike ride. It was the most fun I had all summer. We bike all the way down by the Potomac. We spent the whole biking on that path, stopping whenever we wanted and taking little breaks.
This past summer I did the same thing with the kids that I was babysitting. We found the closest spot to connect to the Capital Crescent Trail, the same one I rode on as a kid. We packed our bikes and helmets in the back of my car and started our adventure. We biked and had a little picnic and then rode back to our starting spot.
The kids had a great time riding their bikes on the nice paved paths and going through all the different areas.
This bike path has become a tradition for me each summer. It is great exercise and a fun way to spend a beautiful day!
